Observation of External Wounding on Green Ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanica Marshall) Trees Associated with Tree Injection Systems

چکیده
Field observations of external wounds associated with two common tree injection methods compared open (plug-less) and sealed (plug) systems in green ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanica Marshall) trees. A wound from any cause within 1.37 m above the ground was 28.8% all The system had statistically fewer (p < 0.001) trees at least one (11.6% trees) than (47.4% trees). (0.17, 0.04 SE) per a smaller total area (25.5 cm2, 8.7 tree, to (1.14, 0.13 (99.7 16.2 tree. incidence wound(s) 7.2 times more likely treated though system. Wounds were observed appear have high rate improper application plugs, which 77% cases explain wounds. Implications study results are further provided best protect trees, while same time reducing wounding on

that Empire, the Cartographer's art achieved such a degree of perfection that the Map of a single Province occupied an entire City, and the map of the Empire, an entire Province. In time, these vast Maps were no longer sufficient. The Guild of Cartographers created a Map of the Empire, which perfectly coincided with the Empire itself. But Succeeding Generations, with diminished interest in the ...
متن کاملReducing industrial dust pollution by Ash tree Fraxinus excelsior in urban green belt
Heavy metal pollutionis one of the largest problems in the Environment and human being. In industrial and urban areas trees can give better quantifications for pollutant concentrations and atmospheric deposition than non-biological samples. In order to know ability of Fraxinus excelsior (Ash tree) to reduce the concentrations of heavy metals and compared with the concentration of thes...
متن کاملGrowth of Larval Agrilus planipennis (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) and Fitness of Tetrastichus planipennisi (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) in Blue Ash (Fraxinus quadrangulata) and Green Ash (F. pennsylvanica).
Emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire) is an invasive primary pest of North American ash (Fraxinus spp.) trees. Blue ash (F. quadrangulata) is less susceptible to emerald ash borer infestations in the forest than other species of North American ash. Whereas other studies have examined adult host preferences, we compared the capacity of emerald ash borer larvae reared from emerald ash...
متن کاملGrowth Responses and Adaptations of Fraxinus pennsylvanica Seedlings to Flooding.
Flooding induced several physiological and morphological changes in Fraxinus pennsylvanica seedlings, with stomatal closure among the earliest responses. Subsequent changes included: reduction in dry weight increment of roots, stems, and leaves; formation of hypertrophied lenticels and production of adventitious roots on submerged portions of the stem above the soil line; leaf necrosis; and lea...
متن کاملPreimaginal Stages of the Emerald Ash Borer, Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire (Coleoptera: Buprestidae): An Invasive Pest on Ash Trees (Fraxinus)
This study provides the most detailed description of the immature stages of Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire to date and illustrates suites of larval characters useful in distinguishing among Agrilus Curtis species and instars. Immature stages of eight species of Agrilus were examined and imaged using light and scanning electron microscopy. For A. planipennis all preimaginal stages (egg, instars I...
